The Generation Z is overtly characterized by paying attention to details and that is the difference between now and then. As much as this is a huge advantage, and it is supposed to bring a lot of benefits, we see a different world where paying attention to details is rather not on things that will help us grow.
The youngsters of Generation Z pay attention to things that are largely not related to them directly; they pay attention to celebrities and influencers to neglect theirs.
Isn’t it funny how a Generation Z young adult has all the details of Davido, Maroon 5, Kim Kardashian, and other celebrities but cannot recall formulas or theories that could help him/her make meaningful progress in their career or academics?
As much as paying attention to details is very crucial, we have the core duty of enlightening Generation Z on how the things they pay attention to are making them lose focus of their real goal.

Be practical about it. If access to information is what is making Generation Z lose focus, let us as parents and caregivers limit the level at which our youngsters have access to this information.
If you see your wards always focusing on gadgets, devices that you know are distractive, kindly withdraw such gadgets from them so long as they are under your watch.
Communicate with your wards. Make them know the positive and negative impacts inherent in the access to information they have.
For the females especially, it is the duty of both parents, society builders, mentors and models to educate and talk to them–meekly on why they should pay more attention to things and skills that will develop them rather than things that will distract them.
If need be, parents, stop subscribing to your televisions, phones, and Spectranet so that your kids can pay attention to studying and acquiring skills. Be bold enough to seize the phone or any other device that you have noticed can make young ones lose focus.
Truth is, with the advancement in technology, it is becoming more difficult because the things that make people distracted and lose focus are greatly on the increase.
As sad as this may sound, it might take a lot of work before we will be able to build a focused society. But we must strive in all our might to make sure we do that, else the future might be scarier than now.
