From December 19 to December 27, the Al Safa Art and Design Library is hosting the Second-Hand Book Fair, which aims to increase public knowledge of culture and encourage reading as a daily habit.
The “Second-Hand Book Fair” initiative, run by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), is a cultural program for Dubai Public Libraries with the goals of promoting literacy, igniting a love of reading, reusing books, and making them available to everyone. All age groups can purchase the things for symbolic costs ranging from AED 3, 5 to 10.
The exhibition fits within the framework of Dubai culture’s commitment to instilling a culture of reading in the hearts of future generations. It is held concurrently with the activities of the winter camp at Dubai Public Libraries. The fair, which has daily hours of 8:00 to 20:00, is one of the initiatives demonstrating Dubai Culture’s adherence to the National Literacy Strategy 2016–2026, which aims to encourage all facets of culture, including the arts and literature.
