Bello Musa Kofarmata, a former striker for the Super Eagles and Kano Pillars, has reportedly passed away at the age of 34.
The former Nigerian international passed suddenly late on Tuesday, November 1, in Kano, his hometown, following a brief illness, according to Oyo Sports News.
As per Islamic tradition, the deceased will be buried later today (Wednesday).
In 2007, Kofarmata signed on with Kano’s Buffalo F.C. to play football. In the same year, he joined Kano Pillars. He joined Heartland FC in Owerri after leaving Kano Pillars in 2010, then in 2012, he changed to Elkanemi Warriors in Maiduguri. He went back to Kano Pillars after that.
The late Kofarmata traveled to Canada in 2007 with the Nigerian team for the FIFA U20 World Cup. In the Super Eagles’ 5-2 friendly victory against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Abuja in March 2010, he made his team debut as a replacement.
